Automatic discounts - Early Adopter Program

We now support Shopify automatic discounts on recurring orders as part of an Early Adopter Program.

Previously, Shopify automatic discounts only applied at checkout and did not persist to recurring subscription orders, requiring merchants to rely on discount codes. With early access, Shopify automatic discounts will carry over to eligible recurring orders beyond checkout, and merchants have the option to apply them to eligible existing subscribers, reducing manual work and ensuring a consistent subscriber experience.

Affinity Home Page Builder enables you to deliver a more flexible and engaging customer portal experience. It provides improved information hierarchy, better mobile navigation, and modular sections that allow you to highlight key actions and content more effectively.

Which stores are eligible?

This is available for all Shopify stores using the Affinity customer portal. 

What features are supported?

The new home page supports:

  • Loyalty
  • Prepaids
  • Bundles
  • Cross-sells

This brings the new experience to feature parity with the existing Affinity.

I’m interested! What should I do now?

The new home page is available automatically as a recommended option in the Customer Portal settings. No sign-up or enablement is required.

Merchants can enable it by selecting:
Storefront → Customer Portal → Affinity → Recommended: Design your own custom home page

Existing stores will not be migrated automatically and can switch back to their previous home page experience at any time.

Bundles Widget 2.0 - Early Adopter Program

Bundles Widget 2.0 is a new out-of-the-box bundle widget that provides a faster, clearer, and more intuitive bundle-building experience for customers — especially on mobile, where most bundle purchases happen.



Bundles Widget 2.0 improves the bundle shopping experience by making it easier for customers to:

  • Clearly understand what’s included in their bundle
  • Review and update selections in real time
  • Navigate bundle options more intuitively, especially on mobile

The new widget provides a cleaner UI, improved information hierarchy, and a more guided bundle-building flow that helps customers complete their purchase with confidence.

Which stores are eligible?

All stores using Bundles are eligible. 

Important notes:

  • Existing bundles will not be automatically migrated.
  • For newly created bundles, Widget 2.0 is applied by default.
  • Merchants can manually switch between Widget 2.0 and legacy templates at any time.

No signup is required.

Simply:

  1. Go to the Bundle in the merchant portal .
  2. Create a new bundle (Widget 2.0 will be applied by default), or
  3. Edit an existing bundle and switch the template to Widget 2.0.

Quantity Upsells Now Available - Early Adopter Program

Quantity Upsells let merchants create subscription plans that offer deeper discounts when customers commit to purchasing larger quantities on a recurring cadence. This is ideal for products where customers benefit from ordering multiple units at once (e.g. monthly, quarterly, or multi-month usage).


What problem does this solve?
Previously, merchants relied on separate SKUs or product variants to offer quantity-based options. This introduced complexity across inventory management, 3PL configuration, and product setup. Quantity Upsells eliminate this overhead by allowing merchants to manage quantity-based subscription plans directly within Recharge.

Example use cases include:

  • Offering multi-month supply plans (3- or 6-month commitments)
  • Increasing AOV by encouraging fewer, larger shipments
  • Aligning purchase cadence with recommended product usage

Upsell Swap at Checkout - Early Adopter Program

Upsell Swap is our latest checkout experience, designed to let you offer product or variant swaps directly at checkout. With Upsell Swap, you can encourage customers to upgrade a subscription to a prepaid plan, convert a one-time purchase into a subscription, swap to a larger product, and more - all within the checkout process.


With Upsell Swap, merchants can increase revenue and conversion by offering a contextually relevant product swap during checkout. This unlocks more upsell options that drive higher order value and improved customer experience.

How it works

There are three main use cases for Upsell Swap:

  1. Subscription-to-prepaid upgrades

    Merchants offering prepaid plans can use Upsell Swap to let customers upgrade from a subscription to a prepaid plan - or between different prepaid options.

  2. One-time to subscription conversions

    Merchants who offer separate one-time and subscription products can now swap product or variant IDs at checkout, enabling upsells from one-time to subscription. This is key for merchants who have their products plans set up separately and cannot use the current Checkout Upsell. 

  3. SKU-based upsells

    For merchants with multiple SKUs (e.g. different pack sizes), Upsell Swap allows you to upgrade by swapping them - for example a 1-pack to 3-pack product, directly at checkout.

Digital Subscription Entitlements - Early Adopter Program

Digital Subscription Entitlements is now available through our Early Adopter Program. Relevant to merchants who sell digital subscriptions or a mix of digital and physical products.



Most subscription apps have historically been optimized for physical, replenishable goods, forcing you to rely on custom integrations or manual processes to manage digital access. Entitlements automates access control by syncing access with subscription status and billing events (including dunning and recovery). This release also includes Entitlements APIs and a digital-first customer portal that removes physical-only actions and reduces onboarding complexity for digital-first and hybrid brands.

Early Adopter Program - Automatic Bundle Plans Sync

You no longer need to manually create matching selling plans for every product in a dynamic bundle! Available to merchants using use variant-level plans with Affinity or Unity. 



With Automatic Bundle Plans syncing, you can now configure frequencies and discounts once at the bundle level and bundle-eligible products automatically inherit those selling plans. The inherited plans apply only to the bundle experience, and won’t appear on storefront product pages, so your customers can’t purchase individual items with bundle-specific plans. This works for both new and existing dynamic bundles.
