New Early Adopter Program - Prepaid Enhancements

You can now offer Prepaid subscriptions on the same product page as your Subscription and one-time options - without any custom code needed!



This new feature has been built primarily for the Subscription Widget 2.0 but it is also compatible with older widget versions.

Prepaid enhancements is available for stores using Product Subscription plans, and you can request enablement through this link.

Drilldowns now available in Analytics Reporting

Analytics reports now allow in-depth exploration of analytics datasets, providing access to key information, such as subscriber lists for metrics (e.g., Active Subscribers).


You can now utilize our Reports in order to do the following:

  • Visual metric comparisons to easily interpret data.
  • A Report tab, that includes a summary row and period rows.
  • Drill-Down Tab: New functionality to view detailed individual records underlying each metric, enabling a more granular data analysis.
  • Export both aggregated metrics and detailed drill-down data, improving data flexibility and external analysis.

Post-purchase Cross-sell - General Release

Post-purchase Cross-sell allows you to encourage customers to add an additional product to their order post-checkout, either as a one-time or on a recurring basis, with time-sensitive offers that align with your brand and enhance the customer experience. Stores must be on Recharge Pro to use this feature. 


Post-purchase Cross-sell is a Subscription Experience that displays a relevant product for purchase after a customer completes their checkout order. Add a timer to increase urgency, and let customers know this offer isn’t always available. You also have the option to customize the post-purchase page to match your brand’s tone, ensuring a seamless experience for your customers. 

Access Post-purchase Cross-sell under Grow in the Recharge merchant portal and click Post-purchase. You can refer to Getting started with Post-purchase Cross-sell for more information.

Now Available - Failed Payment Recovery shows Store Credits "left behind"

When customers enter your Failed Payment Recovery strategy, they can now see how much store credit they're leaving behind. Available to merchants using Failed Payment Recovery and Store Credits.


Store credits & Failed Payment Recovery are core Retain features that merchants can now leverage together to help reduce customer churn.


Merchants can add this code block themselves by creating a new strategy or duplicating an existing strategy and editing their notification nodes.

Recharge Checkout Blocked as of Oct 18th, 2024

Since 2020, Recharge has collaborated with Shopify to create and enhance the Shopify Checkout Integration (SCI), steadily migrating merchants from Recharge Checkout (RCS) to SCI over the past three years.


As of October 18, 2024, Shopify stores (SCI, RCS and migrated Shopify stores) can no longer access the Recharge checkout or checkout APIs.

Now Available - A/B Testing for Failed Payment Notifications

You can now run A/B tests on email notifications in Recharge’s Failed Payment Recovery Strategy. This is available to all stores using Failed Payment Recovery.


This can help optimize your Failed Payment Recovery Strategy. Test out different notification settings, including but not limited to:

  • Subject lines
  • Email content
  • Styling
  • Call-to-actions

A/B Test Ideas:

  • Subject line optimization: Test urgency vs. value-focused subject lines.
  • Email tone: Compare friendly, conversational tones with formal, professional ones.
  • Call-to-action placement: Test CTA at the start vs. the end of the email.

Here's what our Product team was up to in September:


Affinity Customer Portal

  • NEW: "Other Active Subscriptions" Card in Affinity Customer Portal: The Affinity Overview Page now displays all customer’s active subscriptions, making it easier for them to consolidate and/or manage their orders.

Subscriptions

  • NEW (Early Adopter Program): New Subscription Widget: Merchants using Product Subscription Plans and a Shopify 2.0 Theme can now easily customize their subscription widget with their brand’s style and messaging.

Retain

  • Cancellation Prevention - Survey Node Copy & Paste: Easily duplicate the logic of a cancellation survey node’s set up (reasons, offers and site builder) to be applied to other nodes shown.
  • Win Backs - Customize Offers by Cancellation Reason: When configuring Win Backs, merchants can now segment customers by cancellation reason and present customized offers as part of A/B testing.
  • Rewards now available through our SDK: Merchants with SDK-based portals, or using the Recharge SDK to customize Affinity or other portals, can now connect to Rewards functionality, unlocking features like Credits, Free Gifts, and enhanced Subscription Discounts.
  • NEW (Early Adopter Program): Rewards on One-Time Only Checkouts: Reward customers with credits on one-time only checkouts to both incentivize repeat buying and engage a broader range of customers. This functionality allows merchants to trigger an experience for one-time only customers in order to acquire subscribers.


Merchant Experience

  • Refreshed Account Page Designs & New Account-level Role Identification: We've added helpful information to our Accounts pages and included the ability for users to self-identify their role information. 


Analytics

  • NEW Benchmark:” % of checkout orders with a subscription”: Merchants can now see how their subscription sales stacks up with other stores in their vertical. Available to all stores using our integrated Shopify Checkout.

Immediate Charge for Win Backs

Merchants can now charge customers immediately after they reactivate via a Win Back landing page.


This feature will help you to:

1. Secure instant payment upon reactivation

2. Prevent system gaming - stop customers from adjusting their order after reactivation to gain extra benefits

3. Provide a seamless checkout experience: customers are charged immediately and notified via email.
