New Early Adopter Program - Rewards on One-Time Only Checkouts

Merchants can now reward customers with credits on one-time only checkouts. Give credits on one-time purchases to incentivize repeat buying, or make credits subscription-only to provide more motivation to convert to a subscriber.

With this new Subscription Experience, merchants can engage a broader range of customers, create a new funnel for subscription acquisition, and further consolidate their tech stack. Trigger an experience for all one-time only checkout orders, even if they don’t include a subscription. Additionally, customers who make one-time only checkouts (without ever having a subscription) are now created in Recharge along with their checkout order history.

If you're interested in participating in this Early Adopter Program, fill out the interest form and a member of our team will be in contact.

Cancellation Prevention - Survey Node Copy & Paste

Merchants can now copy & paste the Survey node in Cancellation Prevention, and apply settings from one node to all other Survey nodes.

Previously, there was no way to duplicate logic configured on one cancellation survey node to another survey node within the same experience. With this update, merchants can now:

  1. Copy node configuration: Copies the entirety of the node's setup (reasons, offers, site builder)
  2. Paste node configuration: Paste the copied node configuration on desired location (assuming a node configuration is already copied)
  3. Apply this node to all other nodes of this type: Pushes the entirety of a survey node's setup to all other cancellation survey nodes shown

For more information about Cancellation Prevention, see Building a Cancellation Prevention Strategy.

Refreshed Account Page Designs & New Account-level Role Identification

We've updated the design of our Accounts pages to include more helpful information for merchants, and added the ability for users to self-identify their role information. Merchant users will soon be prompted for their role information when they log in to their store.

The refreshed Accounts page now supports some new key features:
  • Last login date- Shows the last date in which a specific merchant user has accessed the Recharge merchant portal
    • Seen on both the Account list page and the specific account details page
    • We began tracking this data on August 8. If you see this date showing blank, then the user in question has not logged in since then.

  • Role Identification fields- Provides inputs for merchant users to tell us more about the accounts accessing their store. Users will automatically be prompted to fill in this data when editing an account record. Information requested includes the user's role, department, and how the user is associated with the store.

New Benchmark: ”% of checkout orders with a subscription”

Merchants can now see how their subscription sales stacks up with other stores in their vertical. Available to all stores using our integrated Shopify Checkout.

This new metric gives merchants a performance "score" (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor) based on the percentile in which their store falls for this particular metric, and lets them track both their own store's movement, and the movement of their industry vertical, over time. For merchants seeking to understand their subscription program's core KPIs so that they know what to prioritize, it's a powerful new addition that emphasizes the importance of optimizing every step of the customer journey for subscription sales.

Now Available: Rewards through our SDK

Merchants with SDK-based portals, or merchants using the Recharge SDK to customize Affinity or other portals, can now connect to Rewards functionality! The Recharge SDK puts the ultimate control in the hands of our merchants, letting them customize every aspect of their subscriber experience and their tech stack.

Recharge’s Rewards add-on enables merchants to understand their customers and retention rates, then build targeted strategies that keep subscribers engaged and retained. Rewards unlocks features like Credits, Free Gifts, and enhanced Subscription Discounts.

Build custom components that:

  • Show a subscriber a summary of credit they have earned
  • Let a subscriber turn on/off credit usage for their next purchase
  • Get detailed information regarding a subscriber's credit or reward history
  • See a subscribers streak count
  • Show when an upcoming charge has a free gift added to it

Store's must be on the Recharge Pro plan with the Retain add-on to utilize Rewards in the SDK.
