Improve efficiency via automated order injection status notification on BigCommerce

All BigCommerce merchants can now leverage Recharge’s charge history and notification system to expand visibility into order injection status - which refers to orders that have been processed successfully in Recharge and will therefore be injected into BigCommerce.



With this update, an automated notification will be sent to merchants so they can quickly identify and resolve issues related to order injection. Additionally, the variant swap tool has been updated with modifier support to let merchants easily retry a charge after swapping a product. Together, this will result in reduced technical support costs and avoid unnecessary delays.

Expand to international markets with 'Taxes included' configuration on BCI

All merchants using Recharge with our BigCommerce Checkout Integration (Unified checkout) now have the option to display the total pricing for subscriptions (i.e. base price + taxes). This is the most common tax configuration in Europe and Australia. 



Merchants with the taxes included configuration will also be able to take advantage of the BigCommerce discount functionality and be sure that the prices and taxes are always calculated correctly.

Tax update: Changes to Colorado Retail Delivery Fee

To ensure your store continues to stay compliant with the recent updates to Colorado Retail Delivery Fee requirement, Recharge will now add a USD 0.28 fee on charges with a Colorado destination address for applicable items starting July 1, 2023. This works automatically, so you are not required to take any further action.



NOTES: 

  • If you use Recharge with Shopify Checkout Integration, Shopify will directly apply this fee to all relevant transactions.
  • If you use Avalara on Recharge Checkout with Shopify, BigCommerce, or Custom, Avalara determines the fee amount. More details on the changes Avalara is making to support this change can be found here.

New Klaviyo Metric: Charge date rescheduled for purchase line item

All stores using the Klaviyo integration with Recharge now have another new metric in Klaviyo called 

Subscription next charge date changed on Recharge


This metric allows merchants to identify when the charge date is rescheduled within Recharge for a specific purchase line item in an upcoming subscription order. Merchants can leverage this metric to segment and communicate with customers for whom the charge date has been rescheduled.

Build refined Klaviyo customer segments with new custom properties

All merchants using our integration with Klaviyo now have access to three new custom properties that can help them create refined customer segments for targeted email flows and campaigns.  



  • Overall customer charge count which returns a numerical value
  • List of next charge dates mapped to the specific variant
  • Next charge date

SCI support for Pickup and Local Delivery

All merchants using our Shopify Checkout Integration can now offer Pickup and Local Delivery on recurring orders in addition to checkout orders. 



Customers can select their preferred delivery method during checkout and it will be retained throughout the life of the subscription. This feature is fully integrated with Shopify (screenshot below) and requires no additional setup within Recharge.

Customers can now gift a skipped a shipment

All Recharge merchants can now enable their customers to gift an upcoming order as a one-time shipment when they select the ‘skip’ option. Once enabled, merchants can simultaneously recover skipped shipments and expand their customer base. 



  • Merchants will be able to enable/disable this feature
  • Customers will be able to enter the shipping information for sending the one-time gift
  • Gift recipients will receive a notification prior to receiving the shipment

All stores using the Klaviyo integration with Recharge now have five all-new metrics that greatly enhance the ability to segment and target subscribers throughout their lifecycle. Merchants can access these metrics directly within Klaviyo and combine them with Recharge quick actions to create powerful email flows and campaigns. 



  • Charge failed
  • Order Placed
  • SKU Swapped
  • One-time product added
  • One-time product deleted

New Quick Action: Add One-time product & apply discount

All Shopify merchants now have access to new Recharge quick action to include in their email flows and campaigns. Clicking a single URL automatically includes a pre-configured discount code while adding a one-time product to a customer’s upcoming order.



With this feature, you can

  • Incentivize your customers to add one-time products to their upcoming order at a discounted price
  • utilize our Klaviyo integration to create one-time product upsells in email flows and campaigns

Note: The one-time product would not need to be added to Recharge if it exists in your Shopify online store.
