Limit orders per customer to help prevent fraud

Restrict the number of orders a customer can place within a 24-hour period.

You can now set Customer Order Limits to reduce fraudulent activity and prevent abuse.

This feature lets you define how many orders a single customer can process within a 24-hour window. Limits are applied at the customer level—not per address or subscription—so they can’t be bypassed by adding new addresses.

This builds on Customer Block Lists to give you more control over suspicious activity and protect against fraudulent subscription orders.

See Prevent fraud by setting order limits for your customers for more information

Update a Subscription node now available in Automate

Update a specific subscription with a single node, no Smart Loop required.

You can now use a standalone Update a Subscription node anywhere in your Automate flows. Select the exact subscription you want to update directly on the node using targeting criteria like variant, then configure changes in one place.

This simplifies common update use cases by removing the need to loop through subscriptions and apply branch conditions. If you know which subscription you want to update, you can now do it faster with a cleaner, more intuitive flow.

The standalone node works alongside existing Smart Loops, so you can still use loops for more dynamic or complex scenarios involving multiple subscriptions.

All standard update options are available, including overrides for frequency, price, charge date, title, and more.

See Understanding the Update a subscription node for Automate flows for more information.

Explore the new Affinity Custom Extensions library

Jumpstart your portal customization with ready-to-use extension examples.

A new public library of Custom Extensions for Affinity 2.0 is now available, making it faster to add custom content to your customer portal.

Instead of building from scratch, you can start from pre-built examples and adapt them to your store. The library includes common use cases like:

  • Adding products to a customer’s next charge
  • Cross-sell carousels with filtering and product modals
  • Personalized variant swap offers
  • Gamified discount experiences

All extensions automatically inherit your store’s branding using Affinity styles, along with shared UI components and SDK helpers.

The repo also includes a “skill” designed for LLMs, so you can generate new extensions that follow best practices and match your branding.

Track and filter bot opens in Email Analytics

Get a more complete view of email performance, with the option to filter for human-only engagement.

Email Analytics now includes bot opens by default, giving you a more comprehensive view of engagement across Failed Payment Recovery, Upcoming order, and Win Back emails.

Previously, bot opens were excluded based on heuristic detection, potentially leading to underreported metrics and inconsistencies. By including all opens, dashboards now reflect the full set of engagement data.

If you prefer, you can still filter out bot opens to view human-only metrics.

Historical data has also been backfilled to provide a more consistent view over time.

Backup Payment Methods available

Recover more revenue by automatically charging a customer’s backup payment method when the primary fails.

Backup Payment Methods is now live for all merchants. When a customer’s primary payment method fails, Recharge will automatically attempt to charge any other saved payment methods. If successful, that method becomes the new primary for future orders to that address.

You can control whether customers are opted in or out by default, which is especially important for regions with stricter GDPR requirements.

You can also:

  • Identify charges processed with a backup method in the Charge Timeline or Charges export
  • View each customer’s opt-in status directly on the Customer Details page

See Enabling backup payment method retries to recover failed charges and reduce churn for more information.

Analyze multiple products with Subscription Cohort Performance

The new Subscription Cohort Performance view, available through the Early Adopter Program, lets you analyze multiple products together to better understand retention and revenue trends.

You can now select multiple products in the Subscription Cohort Performance dashboard "filter" section to view product performance across multiple products as a group. This makes it easier to compare categories, evaluate collections, or track performance across products that have changed IDs over time.

Note: it may take a few seconds to load after applying your filters.

See Subscription cohort performance dashboard for more information.

Punch cards Advanced mode is now live

Advanced mode lets you unlock advanced customizations for your punch card experiences.

Punch Cards now make it easier to build anything from simple rewards to more sophisticated loyalty programs with the new Advanced mode.

Start with a guided setup to define your audience and reward milestones. When you’re ready for more control, switch to Advanced mode to automatically generate a pre-built flow; there's no need to start from scratch.

From there, you can layer in advanced logic like A/B testing, customer segments, and Klaviyo notifications, all within the same flow.

To keep things streamlined, punch card display settings are managed directly within the Punch Card node once you’re in Advanced mode.

See How to set up punch cards for more information.

Update shipping rates with a new Rewards node

You can now dynamically update a customer’s shipping rate within Rewards flows.

We’ve introduced a new Update shipping rate node in Rewards, allowing you to modify shipping prices on a customer’s address based on flow conditions.

With this update, you can set a custom shipping price, optionally define a title and code, and update the address associated with the processed charge. These updates persist across future recurring charges until changed again by another flow or update.

The node also supports multi-currency configurations. By default, shipping rates are converted from your store currency, or you can define custom prices per currency. Any unspecified currencies will automatically use the converted store currency value.

This update gives you more control over shipping as a retention and incentive lever. You can reward loyal customers, create targeted shipping promotions, and adjust shipping logic without manual intervention.

Examples include:

  • Reducing shipping after a customer’s third order to encourage retention
  • Applying free shipping after a set number of orders
  • Offering promotional shipping rates tied to specific products or campaigns
  • Creating VIP experiences with permanently reduced shipping rates

See Understanding the Update shipping rate node for Rewards flows in the Recharge Help Center for more information.

More flexible Cross-sell experiences within the Customer Portal

We're working on a new feature that will allow you to manage multiple cross-sell experiences within the customer portal.

👉 Sign up to be the first to get access: https://forms.gle/uJjxxTyVGuc5nAn77

This feature will allow you to create a range of cross-sell flows in the customer portal, define which customers see each experience, and control which products appear in each cross-sell carousel.

It’s designed to give you more flexibility in how you promote products to existing subscribers, instead of using a the same setup for everyone.

Start from scratch template in Automate

Build Automate flows from a clean slate with a new starter option.

You can now create Automate flows using a minimal starter template, no pre-built logic required.

This update is designed for merchants who need flexibility to build custom or one-off automations without adapting an existing template. Instead of starting with the closest match and deleting nodes, you can now begin with a minimal, ready-to-build canvas.

For example, you can:

  • Update shipping rates based on specific trigger conditions
  • Create simple, modular flows like adding customers to segments based on order count
  • Combine conditions and actions that don’t fit standard templates

See How to create an Automate flow from scratch for more information.
