Merchants using Recharge with Shopify Checkout Integration can now create advanced shipping options for their subscription orders while leveraging Shopify Shipping profiles. This also allows merchants to configure their shipping settings directly within their Shopify portal.

Currently in beta, merchants can use this feature to: 

• Set a distinct shipping rate for all subscription orders, including the ability to set ‘free shipping’ for subscription orders only
• Enable conditional shipping logic, such as ‘price-based’ and ‘weight-based’ shipping 
• Limiting 'free shipping' to certain regions/countries

In addition to being able to make other bulk changes, you can now use the import flow to quickly and easily reschedule upcoming and error charges. With this update, you can choose to reschedule charges (including all subscription line items belonging to a given charge ID) or reschedule individual subscription items, which can be helpful in the event of out of stock inventory.

You’ll now be able to see more details for prepaid charges and orders. In the Customer details and Subscription details pages, you’ll see information like charge details for the entire prepaid cycle as well as details specific to the shipment the customer will receive on the given date.

With this information more easily accessible, you’ll be able to see more holistic data and perform more targeted actions for your customers.

Direct checkout links take your customers straight to checkout with the right product and subscription interval in their cart. 

This creates a frictionless experience for your customers as they can go from casual browser to paying customer within seconds. Combine direct checkout links with marketing collateral, storefront sales, or other calls to action to increase checkout conversion on your flagship subscription products.

In addition to being able to make bulk changes when a product goes out of stock, add seasonal products, and make changes to your product pricing, you can now use the import flow to quickly and easily bulk delete subscriptions without contacting our support team.

You can now enable a setting that allows your customers to pause a subscription instead of canceling. Customers who click ‘cancel’ from within the customer portal will be met with a pop-up asking them if they would prefer to pause their subscriptions instead.

For Recharge merchants using Shopify Checkout Integration, Recharge now uses Shopify shipping profiles to honor price-based shipping on recurring orders. Enabled by default, Recharge will automatically determine the shipping rate on recurring orders based on the price charged to the customer, including Subscribe and Save discounts and price overrides. 

Merchants not using price-based shipping with Shopify will not be impacted by this release. To learn more, visit this help center article. 

Passwordless login allows your customers to easily login to their customer portal using a 4-digit authentication code sent via SMS or email (both if your customers have a phone number on file). If you’re on Shopify Plus, Multipass will allow your customers to be logged into both their Recharge customer portal and Shopify account.

This feature makes it easier for your customers to manage their subscription, reducing customer churn and customer support tickets.

If your store is on the Recharge checkout or a custom-built store configured to use Braintree as the primary payment gateway, you'll be able to easily switch from using the sandbox environment to production once you're ready.

Now you can edit any customer's "tax exempt" status, right from their customer details page in Recharge. When a customer is set to be "tax exempt," Recharge will bypass tax calculations when generating new charges. 

Plus, if you are on Shopify, you can make changes to a customer's tax status in either location, we'll detect the change and sync the update.
