You can now track the contribution of Recharge subscription sales to overall store sales and monitor the growth of your subscription program.

Read more in our knowledge base here.

2. Checkout Dashboard:
A new dashboard to help you analyze subscriber acquisition in relation to overall sales and customer acquisition. Key insights include:

- Percentage of checkout orders with subscription products.
- Breakdown of checkout orders by new customers, returning customers, active subscribers, and churned subscribers.
- Comparison of new customer acquisition as subscribers vs. non-subscribers.
- Analysis of new subscribers' acquisition on their first order vs. subsequent orders.

Read more in our knowledge base here.

3. Lifetime Revenue Dashboard:
You can now compare the lifetime revenue and lifetime orders between subscribers and non-subscribers, providing deeper insights into customer value.

Read more in our knowledge base here.

Please note that these metrics are currently in an Early Adopter program and calculations are subject to change.

Checkout Upsell General Release

Checkout Upsell is available for all stores on the Recharge Pro plan and using Shopify Plus. This feature encourages your customers to convert one-time purchases to subscriptions at checkout in one easy step.

Checkout Upsell is a Subscription Experience that displays a “Subscribe and save” link during checkout that customers can click to convert their one-time order to a recurring subscription. If a customer changes their mind after clicking the link, they can easily return to their original one-time order.

You can read more about this feature on the Upsell subscriptions at checkout Help Center guide.

Cancellation Prevention - Variant Swap, Combined Offers, Free Gift Offers, and Gaming Prevention - General Release

Cancellation Prevention Early Adopter Programs have been generally released for all eligible stores. Recharge has been working on several enhancements to Cancellation Prevention. Cancellation Prevention allows you to create unique win back and churn mitigation strategies to prevent customer churn.

The following Cancellation Prevention updates have been released:

  • Variant Swap: Merchants often use the Swap product offer type to retain customers attempting to cancel by allowing them to exchange their current product for another. This option is highly effective for reasons such as “I no longer need the product” or “I do not like the product.” Customers are presented with a gallery of products to choose from, along with options for variant, frequency, and quantity changes.
  • Combined Offers: Merchants have expressed the need for more meaty offers to experiment and personalize with. While single offers have been beneficial, combining multiple offers can better address customer concerns and enhance retention efforts. The new Combined Offers allows merchants to configure predefined combined offers, starting with Delay AND Discount, Delay AND Free Gift, and Delay AND Swap, to provide more versatile/attractive incentives during the cancellation process.
  • Free Gift Offers: Free Gift Offers as a cancellation prevention offer provides a meaningful alternative that offers the attractiveness of a monetary incentive without directly impacting the pricing structure. Free gifts serve as an engaging way to retain customers by adding value to their subscription, increasing product awareness, and creating opportunities for future upsells or cross-sells. This approach allows merchants to retain customers while promoting their product lineup and encouraging longer-term engagement.
  • Gaming Prevention: The new Gaming Prevention feature allows merchants to define offer time limits at the survey level. If a customer has claimed a monetary offer within the specified time frame, they will be presented with a fallback offer, such as a skip, instead. This feature prevents abuse without revealing the time limits to the customer, encouraging fairness and integrity in the cancellation prevention process.

New Early Adopter Program - Claimable Free Gift node in Rewards

The Free Gift node Early Adopter Program for Rewards allows customers to manually claim a gift and select a variant based on their preference.

Recharge provides different subscription experiences to enhance the customer journey, allowing for various experiences and customizable incentives at every stage of the customer lifecycle. Use these tools to tailor and experiment with different methods of acquiring, managing, and retaining customers. Nodes represent specific actions, or steps, within the flow process. Nodes are the building blocks of the flows architecture and outline the sequence of events in a strategy.

The Free Gift node Early Adopter Program introduces a manual claimable experience:

  • Customization: Merchants can configure the Free Gift node similarly to the Incentive node by selecting a product to gift, deciding if the variant is predetermined or customer-selected, and determining the behavior of the free gift on order skips/unskips.
  • Claimable Landing Page: The experience is customizable like any other Recharge-hosted experience with custom section blocks. The claimable landing page is triggered automatically when customers log into their portal, similar to a Cross-sell experience.
  • Manual Claim: Customers can claim their gift by selecting a variant that suits their preference, providing a more personalized experience.

If you've purchased the Retain package and are interested in participating in this Early Adopter Program, chat with your CSM or navigate to the Rewards page under Retain in the merchant portal.

New Early Adopter Program - Fallback Offers for Cancellation Prevention

We've just rolled another feature for Cancellation Prevention to help you effectively stop cancellations in their tracks.

Fallback offers are presented to customers who proceed to cancel their subscription, after being presented the first offer. A merchant will be able to specify which offer to show first, then if that offer is declined, which offer to show second and the customer will be presented the offers as configured by the merchant.

Read more about Fallback Offers on the Cancellation Prevention Help Center guide.

New "Product Line Item" variable in Failed Payment Recovery email notifications

Email notifications in new Failed Payment Recovery strategies now include a list of the product line items associated with the failed charge.

Including product line items in Failed Payment Recovery emails increases their credibility and reassures customers that the email isn’t spam. By clearly showing the products in their failed order, customers are more likely to update their payment method promptly, ensuring they receive the items they want without disruption.
