Card Declined email for hard declines now available
Prompt customers to update their payment method immediately when a failed charge can’t be retried.
Merchants using Failed Payment Recovery can now enable a dedicated Card Declined email for hard declines that require the customer to update their payment method before Recharge can retry the charge.
The email is sent immediately after a qualifying decline and directs the customer to update their payment method. Once updated, Recharge retries the charge with the new payment method the following day.
You can customize the sender details, subject line, email content, logo, and CTA destination, and send a test email before enabling it.
Configure the email under Churn Tools → Failed payment recovery → Settings → Hard declines that don’t enter FPR. See Enabling the Card Declined email for hard declines for more details.
The Card Declined email is off by default. We recommend customizing and testing the email before enabling it.
